We are often asked "mezo what?" when spreading the word about our small business. Mezonot (sort of pronounced like mezzo-note) is part of the Jewish blessing over non-bread baked goods. Or as our owner, Mandy, says - it's the cookie blessing.
The full blessing is:
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְ‑יָ אֱ‑לֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם בּוֹרֵא מִינֵי מְזוֹנוֹת
Baruch atah A-donay, Elo-heinu Melech Ha’Olam borei minei mezonot.
Blessed are you L-rd our G‑d, King of the Universe, Who creates various kinds of sustenance.

Mezonot Bake Shop is the first fully kosher bakery in Birmingham, Alabama. Established in 2022, our mission is to bring easily accessible kosher sweets, treats, and catering to the Birmingham Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
